Apple might not ship very many HomePods in 2017, report says

Apple might not ship very many HomePods in 2017, report says”

It's worth noting that Inventec Appliances is now responsible for manufacturing Apple's wireless AirPods as well.

Arther Liao, analyst at Fubon Securities predicts, "Inventec Appliances will likely only ship some 500,000 units of HomePod this year, and the device's contribution to the group's revenue will be less than 1%".

Along with the HomePod, Invertec is the supplier for Apple's AirPods, which are still somewhat hard to come by after a late 2016 launch.

Looking forward, a person with "direct knowledge" of Inventec's plans claims that the company will split HomePod order with Hon Hai Precision Industry (aka Foxconn) beginning in 2018.

A new report out today indicates that the Apple HomePod will likely be limited in quantity when it begins shipping out in the fourth quarter of this year.

Earlier this week, an unnamed source within Inventec confirmed that the HomePod has similarities with its rival, the Foxconn 2018, when it comes to design.

Apple has yet to announce an official release date for the HomePod.

Since Apple HomePod is a smart speaker, the company has ensured that it delivers top-notch sound quality with deepest and cleanest bass possible, with low distortion. HomePod also comes with automatic room-sensing technology to quickly learn its position in a room, whether it's in a corner, on a table or in a bookshelf, and within quick time, is optimised to deliver an immersive music listening experience wherever it is placed. It is compatible with iPhone 5s and later models, running iOS 11 and will be competing with Google Home and Amazon's Alexa-powered Echo.

Apple might have Inventec as its current HomePod manufacturer, but the firm is expected to receive traditional manufacturing assistance soon.
