Latest North Korea missile tests are 'provocative' says NZ Foreign Minister”

China, which is the recipient of some 90 percent of North Korea's exports, earlier this month said it would suspend its imports of iron, lead and seafood from the country after halting its coal purchases in mid-February. The county's military didn't mention any failures.

The crisis in the Korean Peninsula is far from being resolved as North Korea on Friday fired "several projectiles" into sea off its eastern coast.

The launches are believed to be North Korea's first test since the Fourth of July when it fired its first intercontinental ballistic test into the sea near Japan. The presidential office in Seoul said the USA and South Korean militaries will proceed with their ongoing war games "even more thoroughly" in response to the launch.

"The first and third missiles failed in flight".

South Korea's President Moon Jae-in says military action against North Korea can not be carried out without his government's permission. Against North Korea's rudimentary air force and air defenses, the F-35 would dominate and lead South Korean, Japanese, and USA legacy fighter jets to total air supremacy. North Koreas state run media said that the country's media van attack the U.S. at any time and that neither Guam, Hawaii or the USA mainland will be available to avoid this "merciless strike".

North Korea had refrained from missile launchings and other provocative acts since then. The use of the multiple rocket launcher has cause for concern too, as it shows an advance in capability and rather than just a missile test operation, more like training for war. That assessment proved incorrect. It said South Korea and USA militaries were analyzing the launch and didn't immediately provide more details.

Pyongyang has denounced the drills as a rehearsal for invasion despite reassurances by Seoul and Washington that they are defensive in nature.

China's President Xi Jinping pledged to make concerted efforts with South Korea's President Moon Jae-in to address differences between the two countries properly, the official Xinhua news agency said on Thursday. The latest update brings it more closely in line with the South Korean military evaluation, which didn't mention any missile failures.

South Korea and the United States agreed to deploy the Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) anti-missile system in response to the growing missile threat from North Korea. North Korea has demonstrated significant advancements in its missile technology this year testing and is on a pace to test more missiles this year than in any previous calendar year.
