Lorde "Performed" At The VMAs, But She Didn't Sing At All

Lorde

The Aussie songstress stormed the stage and remained silent during her performance of Homemade Dynamite!

Upon stepping on stage, Lorde placed a cassette in a boom box, mimed pressing play, and began an interpretive dance to the track, not even lip-syncing.

Fans were quick to come to her defense on Twitter. Lorde kicks off her Melodrama tour next week, September 2, at the Bumbershoot festival in Seattle, Wash., followed by two festival stops in Las Vegas before heading to Europe on September 26.

She was supported by backup dancers who lifted her into the air.

We can't be too mean, though, because apparently, Lorde is saving her vocal chords for a very good reason.

Well, she followed up that message with another tweet, revealing that she actually arrived at the VMAs with a awful flu-one so bad that she apparently needed an IV before the show.

I guess Lorde's VMAs performance was supposed to be relatably casual, but it just seemed like she was making it up as she went along. We hope you feel better soon, girl... you did your best.

Thomas injury concern clouds blockbuster Cavaliers-Celtics' deal
How Thomas and Crowder's psyches would be affected upon a vetoed trade returning them to Boston is a factor in this process too. The Cavaliers would be absolutely silly to void the Kyrie Irving for Isaiah Thomas (and more) trade, to say the least.

Tactically and strategically, it was a dumb move as it would be seen as a weakness on the USA part. It wasn't hard for the Chinese to justify to the Yankees the needs to downsize their troops.
