MO Task Force One Deployed to Texas

MO Task Force One Deployed to Texas”

Missouri Task Force One has been activated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to deploy in Texas, along with task forces from several other states. Although the structure of the storm has changed from a category 4 Hurricane to a tropical depression, the amount of rain now falling and expected to continue can cripple the lone star state. The hurricane has made landfall Friday and caused severe flooding. "It's likely they're going to do water...so they have 6 boats and multiple people to man those boats", Sinewe said. With 15 to 25 inches of rain expected to dump over Houston, urban search and rescue teams as well as various task forces have been deployed from throughout the country.

The teams will be gone for up to three weeks.

"We'll bring our own lights". "We'll take 4 dogs with us down there to help find trapped victims, live victims in any of the destruction", task force member Chuck Wong said.

The team will assist with search and rescues in areas affected by Hurricane Harvery. "But when that mission does, when that event does happen, then everyone of us want to be the first one there".
