Aleksandar Dragovic: Leicester sign Bayer Leverkusen defender on loan”

Leicester City are expected to bring in Aleksandar Dragovic on loan from Bayer Leverkusen after being given permission to talk to the centre-back, according to a report.

The 26-year-old, who has 54 global caps, also played in Leverkusen's season-opening 3-1 loss at defending champions Bayern Munich - where he was a second-half substitute.

Reports state that the Austrian worldwide completed his medical while out on global duty.

The 26-year-old only joined Leverkusen last summer but has been tracked by Roma and Olympiakos this summer, but Marco Silva's side have moved into pole position and are set to make a bid for the defender. There he made over 80 total appearances before making the move to Basel in 2011.

With Robert Huth and club captain Wes Morgan both ageing, Leicester fans may expect to see a potential partnership between Dragovic and £17m signing Harry Maguire at the heart of the defence on occasion this season.
