British Man Caught In Delhi For Sexual Assault Of Visually-Impaired Boys”

A 54-year-old British man working at a residential school for the visually impaired in south Delhi was arrested for sexually assaulting three children.

A police source said one staff member of the NAB was an eyewitness to the crime committed by the accused and he immediately complained to the police and after registering a case under sections of the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act and arrested him. "His MacBook laptop contains objectionable video clips and now his mobile phone is also being examined", said Biswal.

Murray, a native of Gloucestershire, United Kingdom, had suffered a paralytic attack in February and had quit his job with a Gurgaon-based multi-national company in April.

According to the police, the accused, Murray Denis Ward, has been in India since October past year. Ward allegedly sexually harassed the three visually-challenged persons on 2 September, the police said. He is accused of sodomising at least three kids, who are all eight years old or younger. He left the room as soon as a caretaker came in.

According to the officer, who did not wish to be named, the accused, Murray Denis Ward, allegedly went to the school around 3 pm on Saturday and remained there for two hours before returning to his home in south Delhi's Vasant Enclave.

Ward appeared before a judge after his arrest and was ordered held in police custody while investigations were ongoing.

Additional DCP Chinmoy Biswal confirmed that all three victims are visually impaired and stay at National Basketball Association that works for visually-impaired people.

He has been a regular donor to NAB for the last 8-9 years and the police suspect he "could be a paedophile".
