AP Hits the Bulls Eye -Gets India's First Hyperloop!”

Competition for developing Hyperloop technology has heated up in recent months, as the SpaceX sponsored pod competition saw a student group create a pod that traveled 202 miles per hour on the test track. The Boring Company later backed up this claim, saying that its tunnels would be used for high speed transportation systems that will support the Hyperloop. But it has not been implemented for practical use anywhere in the world yet.

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT) the Hyperloop technology developer led by Dirk Ahlborn, said on Wednesday that it has signed an agreement which will bring the first Hyperloop transportation system to the country of India.

But an official release on the MoU did not disclose the probable cost of the project.

The funding for the project would be sourced through private investors as part of a Public Private Partnership (PPP) which will also create around 2,500 jobs. Following his first interaction with HTT executives during the World Economic Forum in Switzerland in January, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu held another round of talks with them at the Secretariat here recently.

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies chairman and co-founder Bibop Gresta said HTT would work with local stakeholders to build the regulatory standards necessary for safe and efficient operation of the HTT.

Described by Kishore as a "state-of-the-art" city, it seems to be doing all right so far, boasting big names in IT, including HCL Technologies, Pi Data Centre, and BRS Medicity. It will supposedly cover the distance of over 35 km only in five minutes.

Before anyone can board the express tube, though, Hyperloop Transportation Technologies will launch a six-month feasibility study; starting in October, the research firm must analyze the area and determine the best possible itinerary.
