A Massachusetts Man Killed His Brother Over The Speed Of Their Internet

A Massachusetts Man Killed His Brother Over The Speed Of Their Internet”

Timothy Record, 20, is being held without bail after pleading not guilty Wednesday to fatally stabbing his older brother who allegedly assaulted him during a fight over home internet bandwidth.

Leominster interim police Chief Michael Goldman told the Herald there was a history of violence between the two brothers and estimated officers had responded to the Lakeshore Drive home "about eight to 10 times" over the years.

Timothy pleaded not guilty to the murder Wednesday afternoon in Leominster District Court while wearing pajama trousers and a blazer, the paper reported.

These two brothers were definitely not on the same bandwidth.

"A verbal argument escalated into a physical confrontation over the use of digital devices which overwhelmed the internet bandwidth", a police report, obtained by the newspaper, stated.

It is reported by local Boston CBS news outlet that Nathan "punched Tim in the face and head and went to his room". Authorities believe that Nathan then went downstairs and grabbed knives from the kitchen, which he used to stab his older brother. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Nathan died as a result of his stab wounds.

Tim Record was brought to the Leominster police station, where he was questioned and later arrested.

"The family's in mourning at this point", Rubin said, per the Sentinel & Enterprise. His court-assigned attorney, Blake Rubin, told multiple media outlets that Record was "upset" about his brother's death but declined to comment further.

"It's very sad, very tragic".

Record was taken away from the court in handcuffs and shackles and the case will resume on 5 October.
