J&K: 2 Hizb militants killed in encounter with security forces”

Two unidentified militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Monday.

Earlier today, a militant was killed in a gunfight that erupted between holed up terrorists and the security forces in a village in Baramulla district.

Confirming the killing, Army's Northern Command in Udhampur said, "Two militants were killed in an encounter with police army and CRPF in Khudwani, Kulgam".

An over-ground worker (OGW) was arrested during the operation, said an official.

Local sources said that the slain militants include Dawood Ahmad Illahi of Hawora Kulgam and Sayar Ahmad Wani of Wanpora Kulgam.

The gunfight has ended but the search operation in the area is still underway.

"The soldiers were on routine patrolling when the explosion occurred. The injured soldiers have been shifted to hospital", sources said.
