Twitter is experimenting with a feature that lets you compose tweetstorms”

For Twitter users, tweetstormed threads are an alternatively major or hated part of the social media network.

One of Twitter's most defining characteristics is that it limits users to sharing no more than 140 characters at a time.

Twitter users create tweetstorms by sending out a tweet and then chaining successive replies to that first one and to the succeeding tweets to create a thread of them.

The practice was popularized by tech investor Marc Andreessen, with the term then coined by another venture capitalist, Chris Dixon.

Someone passed along screenshots to Matt Navarra, Director of Social Media for The Next Web, (via Recode and Techcrunch) which he says were taken on an Android phone depicting the feature in action.

Twitter frequently experiments with new features - some of which are never publicly released - that simplify user behavior the company sees on the app.

It looks like Twitter is about to make Donald Trump's life a whole lot easier with a new tweetstorm feature it seemingly has in the works.

Frequent Twitter users are used to the tweetstorm, which refers to an extended thread of tweets that a user publishes at once. It's a bit ambiguous, but it looks as though the amount of 140-character posts which can fit into these official tweetstorms is limited to 352 which brings the total amount of characters possible to 49,280. There is no definite information on when the tweetstorm feature will launch, but TechCrunch learned that it is now unavailable for public testing.
