Why Harry Kane Can Be Better Than Batistuta - Pochettino”

The north Londoners ran out comprehensive 3-0 winners at Goodison Park on Saturday thanks to an inspired performance from striker Harry Kane.

Mauricio Pochettino has showered high praise on England striker Harry Kane, and has compared him with legendary striker Gabriel Batistuta. "I think it was cramp." he was quoted as saying by Football London.

Pochettino went on to discuss the similarities between Kane and former Fiorentina star Gabriel Batistuta, the now retired Argentine striker a former worldwide teammate of Tottenham's manager. And very strong mentality, very strong shot, great professional, I think yes, you can compare.

"Batistuta was a killer".

Kane's brace against Everton took his goal tally with Spurs to 101, claiming his Premier League century in only 169 appearances.

"But Harry can be better". He is a killer, Harry Kane.

With the former Newcastle man finally showing some signs of the form which led to Spurs breaking their club record fee for him last summer, many were fearing that the injury he sustained could keep him out, just at the time he was starting to improve.

Pochettino praised the impact of Sissoko, who had a hard first season at the club.

"We have got to test ourselves against these teams", he said. "You can compare. For me, OK, I put Batistuta there." he said, holding one hand above the other, ".and Harry there", his other hand slightly lower.

Spurs reached the quarter-finals on their first foray into the Champions League, seven years ago, but last season's experience under Pochettino ended in failure with Spurs unable to emerge from a group containing Monaco and Bayer Leverkusen.

"We have left it late in the transfer market but we have got the players that we wanted and now we have got a good squad, a bulky squad".

"His position depends on the tactic and the dynamic of how we want to play". It's important because we have ahead a very busy period.
