Phillies 2018 Schedule Notes: Season Starts Early, Heavy Dose of AL East”

The 2018 Major League Baseball season will begin a little early for everyone.

The Red Sox schedule can be seen here (dates are tentative for the time being).

The Phillies will start their 2018 season five days earlier than they did this year, opening in Atlanta on Thursday, March 29. After a three-game series against their AL East foe, Boston will head about 260 miles south for a quick two-game interleague set against the Miami Marlins. The Phillies will host the Blue Jays, Yankees, Orioles and Red Sox and travel to face Tampa Bay, Baltimore, Boston and Toronto.

Boston fans will get their first look at the hometown team on April 5 when the Rays come to Fenway Park for a three-game series. The Red Sox will travel to Yankee Stadium May 8-10, June 29-July 1, and September 18-20.

In addition, the Sox will play each of those teams on the road, as well as a July 2-4 series in Washington DC against the Nationals. Marlins (Aug. 28-29) and Mets (Sept. 14-16) visit Fenway.

Sunday's blowout loss to the Yankees marked the Rangers' final game outside their division for the remainder of the 2017 season.
