R Madhavan opted out of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's 'Fanney Khan' - Here's why

R Madhavan opted out of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's 'Fanney Khan' - Here's why”

Moreover, some reports were also stating that he couldn't do the film due to some date issues.

Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra announced of bringing the Taal jodi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoot, once again in his forthcoming film "Fanney Khan". While interacting with media, Mehra stated that he has dream cast in his upcoming produced film Fanney Khan. However, later Rakeysh clarified that Anil and Aishwarya will not romance each other. Names the likes of R Madhavan, Rajkummar Rao, and Vicky Kaushal were among the most prominent ones. We had been hearing for a while that R.Madhavan did not join the cast since he did not have enough dates to give the makers. But the reason behind Madhavan's opting out was unknown to all.

Rao's role was initially offered to R Madhavan but the latter chose to opt out of the film because the price he quoted was beyond budget for the producers.

Yes, an insider revealed to DNA, "The real story is that Madhavan asked for a huge remuneration".

Apparently, Madhavan had quoted a fee of Rs 1.5 crore for the film, which the makers did not want to shell out for a 15-day shoot.

The makers of Fanney Khan found an immediate replacement of R. Madhavan in the form of Rajkummar Rao, who has won accolades for his acting talent in nearly all his films. And the makers felt that it was not justified.

"Casting director Mukesh Chhabra auditioned many young actors, right from Akshay Oberoi to Kartik Aaryan". But none of them fit the bill. At one point, Rakeysh made a decision to bring a fresh face on board, but Aishwarya was reportedly not okay with the idea. But that also didn't happen. "She was okay with working opposite Madhavan and the later choice, Rajkummar". He said, "I am super-excited to be working with her (Aishwarya)".
