80-Year-Old Woman Knocked Down, Robbed In Lincoln Park, Police Say”

Two robbers pushed an 80-year-old woman to the ground and grabbed her purse Tuesday in Lincoln Park, police said.

An 80-year-old woman was robbed in broad daylight in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood Tuesday by two boys, one of whom may have been as young as 12 years old, police said. After yanking her purse off her arm, police said the two suspects fled south into an alley that runs along North Southport Avenue.

Witnesses told ABC7 that the boys may have used a weapon to knock the woman over before stealing her purse. Officer searched the area, but didn't find them, police said. No one is in custody as of Wednesday morning as police investigate.

One of the suspects is described as a black male with a dark complexion, between 15 and 21, about 5-foot-7 and 140-159 pounds, police said. The other was 12-16 years old, 5-foot-4 and 120 pounds.
