Confirmed! Patty Jenkins returning for 'Wonder Woman 2'

Confirmed! Patty Jenkins returning for 'Wonder Woman 2'”

Gal Gadot already is attached to the follow-up, which Warner Bros. has dated for December 13, 2019.

Considering that she was only paid $1 million for "Wonder Woman", Jenkins and her team suddenly shot through the charts to claim the spot of being the highest paid female director.

It's a truly precedent-setting deal, and one that has been a long time coming: Jenkins is thought to have entered talks very soon after Wonder Woman hit cinemas, but the negotiations went on and on as its staying power continued to be made apparent.

"Wonder Woman" had been an unexpected surprise in the box office as it successfully reached the $800 million mark internationally. It became the highest grossing movie about superhero origin ever according to Empire Online. It also earned an impressive 92 percent "fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes, despite what James Cameron had to say. With the film's success, a sequel is something the viewers expected. He also said that for him, the movie is a step backward.

Jenkins has already started working on the script for the "Wonder Woman" sequel. She defended "Wonder Woman" character saying that she believes that 'women can and should be everything just like male lead characters should be'. This feminist reawakening may also result in more women heading behind the camera after they get inspired with Patty Jenkins. She will also have a part in the box office grosses. It makes her the highest paid female director in Hollywood history. In the meantime, Gadot's Diana Prince will make a return appearance this November in the Batman-Superman movie "Justice League". Patty Jenkins is also now developing a TV series based on a Fauna Hodel work.
