Fabricant to look for love on TV dating show

Fabricant to look for love on TV dating show”

May announced to the Commons on Wednesday that Conservative MP Michael Fabricant would be appearing on the Channel 4 dating show First Dates, much to the amusement of the chamber and those watching at home.

The popular First Dates restaurant has been throwing open its doors to single people looking for love since 2013 - often guided by Gallic words from philosophical French maitre d' Fred Sirieix.

He's well known in the House of Commons for his trademark blond hair but Tory MP Michael Fabricant is set to bring his sense of fun to a wider audience on Channel 4's Celebrity First Dates.

Mrs May questioned if Mr Fabricant would be the celebrity or first date.

The revelation in Parliament came after Mr Fabricant asked the Premier about the West Midlands' bid for the Commonwealth Games.

He has been an MP since 1992 and has served as a whip in Parliament and a vice chairman of the Conservative Party.

The Prime Minister added that the Commonwealth Games represented "a unique opportunity" for the West Midlands and would "promote global Britain across the Commonwealth".

Fabricant tweeted that he can "neither confirm or deny" the news.

At the time, he defended his performance saying he hoped it proved not all MPs are "pompous and inaccessible".
