Hurricane Irma Relief Drive

Hurricane Irma Relief Drive”

Anyone with supplies to donate can drop them off at the Quad-City Times, 500 E. 3rd St., Davenport; Duck Creek Tire, 4000 Middle Road in Bettendorf; Two Rivers YMCA at 2040 53rd St., Moline; and Rock Island Heritage Church, 4801 44th St., Rock Island. The funding will be used to assist in the recovery efforts from hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

The Federation's relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey already have raised more than $10 million, which the Federation said is one-third of the estimated $30 million needed to rebuild. Several communities in the Southeastern United States and the Carribean were also impacted. It also has donated $25,000 worth of water to the American Red Cross. "Target today is proud to commit up to $1 million to be there for our team, guests and communities through this hard time".

"We are dismayed by the effects of Hurricane Irma across Florida and the impact it's having on our customers and colleagues in the community", CVS Health Foundation president and CVS Health SVP corporate social responsibility and philanthropy Eileen Howard Boone said.

While millions in Florida grappled with the aftermath of Hurricane Irma as more than 40 percent of Florida still lacked electricity and residents were struggling to maintain cellphone services or Internet access. It also is offering affected team members shifts at neighboring Target stores and offering to pay eligible team members while their locations are closed.

Organizations slated to receive funding from Target include the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, UNICEF, Save The Children and other local relief organizations.

In the days leading up to Hurricane Irma's USA landfall, Target closed more than 120 stores and four distribution facilities for the safety of its team and guests. At least 12 people have been killed in Florida alone while four died in Georgia and SC.

Target's distribution team members worked tirelessly before the storm hit to get products to stores as quickly as possible and help guests get the supplies they need for their families. He also offered assurances that power will be restored, running water will return and schools will reopen in the coming weeks.

A full list of location closures can be found here.
