Obese wives may up men's diabetes risk

Obese wives may up men's diabetes risk”

Given people with type 2 diabetes are more prone to blood clotting, the researchers said it might be better if they took aspirin twice a day to ensure maximum impact and help stop cardiovascular issues developing.

Men do not pose a similar threat to their wives.

Taylor says his research confirms his Twin Cycle Hypothesis - that Type 2 diabetes is caused by too much fat in both the liver and the pancreas.

The researchers also discovered that patients with type 2 diabetes who had not been taking aspirin before the trial had increased platelet aggregation compared to healthy controls.

The researchers therefore recommend type 2 diabetes patients take the drug twice over 24 hours.

But he has also found that losing less than 1 gram of fat in the pancreas - even 10 years after the onset of diabetes - can restart the normal manufacture of insulin and reverse Type 2 diabetes.

They said that indicates that platelets from patients with type 2 diabetes have an increased haemostatic potential - an increased ability to form clots, perhaps increasing the risk of CVD.

A new study from the Newcastle University in the United Kingdom revealed that a low-calorie diet and proper weight management revitalize insulin producing cells in the pancreas, leading to the reversal of type 2 diabetes.

Frequently eating poultry increases the risk of the condition by 15 per cent, the research adds.

According to a recent study, overweight wives can significantly enhance their husband's chances of developing Type-2 Diabetes whereas on the other hand, obese men do not pose a similar risk to their wives.

.

Professor Taylor said the study showed a profound fall in liver fat content resulting in normalisation of hepatic insulin sensitivity within seven days of starting a very low calorie diet in people with type 2 diabetes.

Conversely, women with an obese husband had no additional risk beyond that of their own obesity level.

The authors conclude: "Given that platelets in people with diabetes are characterised by increased aggregation and increased turnover rates, our study indicates that patients with type 2 diabetes may achieve additional benefit from twice daily rather than once daily dosing of aspirin".

After the details were posted on the Newcastle University website, this has been applied clinically and people who were highly motivated have reported that they have reversed their type 2 diabetes and continued to have normal glucose levels (normoglycaemic) over years.

"Recognising shared risk between spouses may improve diabetes detection and motivate couples to increase collaborative efforts to eat more healthily and boost their activity levels. In particular, men whose wives are obese may benefit from being followed more closely".

The study, to be presented at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes 2017, showed that excess calories in the body could lead to excess fat in the liver.
