Texans place CJ Fiedorowicz on IR

Texans place CJ Fiedorowicz on IR”

The NFL punished Strong for violating the league's substance abuse policy, stemming from his marijuana possession arrest in 2016.

The Texans now have 5 players out with concussions, including all active tight ends: C.J. Fiedorowicz, Ryan Griffin, Stephen Anderson, Bruce Ellington, and Brian Cushing. He was activated Tuesday and will start against the Texans at Paul Brown Stadium on Thursday night. Fiedorowicz took a hit from Jacksonville linebacker Myles Jack in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game went out under concussion protocol.

The number of concussions suffered by the Texans is quite stirring given not only how high it is, but how it's concentrated at the tight end position.

In his first two seasons, Strong has recorded 28 receptions for 292 yards and three touchdowns in 18 games. The former Arizona State player was drafted in the third round of the 2015 draft.

Strong will be part of a Houston receiver group that also includes DeAndre Hopkins and Andy Jones playing in Cincinnati on a short week.
