The price of AppleCare+ coverage for iPhone Plus models has increased

The price of AppleCare+ coverage for iPhone Plus models has increased”

Insurance for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 remains at $129, and the new iPhone 8 can also be insured for the same price.

Heads up if you want to buy AppleCare+ for an iPhone Plus: you'll be paying more. It has also raised the price of all "Plus" models, including the iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone 8 Plus.

Every iPhone comes with one year of hardware fix coverage and up to 90 days of complimentary support.

AppleCare+ extends coverage for iPhones to two years from its purchase date and up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage. Those, however, won't be mitigating the cost of Apple's AppleCare+ extended warranty, which practically adds another $200 on top of that $999 for the iPhone X. And with components that are quite expensive, repairing the iPhone X out of warranty could set customers back by a big amount. As MacRumors notes, that's $20 more than Apple used to charge.

If you were enticed by yesterday's iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X announcements, you may be preparing to delve into your pocket to hand over some cash for one of Apple's latest handsets. The iPhone 8 starts at $699 and the Plus is $100 more. Both come in 64GB and 256GB flavors in space gray, silver, or a new gold finish.
