Bette Midler falls on stage, keeps performing

Bette Midler falls on stage, keeps performing”

The show must go on!

Bette Midler took a fall onstage during a performance of "Hello, Dolly!" on Broadway Thursday night, but the show did go on and so did she.

It happened just before intermission and appears the actress fell due to a set malfunction.

"You may hear I was in a little accident on stage tonight", she wrote.

After about 10 minutes, the audience said Midler was back onstage and finished Act One, and then after an intermission, she came back to finish the show. Midler's run as Dolly Gallagher Levi is scheduled to end on January 14.

The musical follows Dolly as a widow in her middle years who has chose to begin her life again.

Stagehands at the Shubert Theatre rushed from the wings to help Midler to her feet and escorted her off stage.

She previously won a Tony Award in June for her performance in the musical.

The incident occurred moments before Midler was about to belt out Hello, Dolly!'s Act I closer "Before the Parade Passes By". Thank you to the Tony voters, many of whom I've actually dated...
