Ruthless All Blacks thrash South Africa in Rugby Championship

Ruthless All Blacks thrash South Africa in Rugby Championship”

The ball was knocked on by Francois Hougaard and straight into the hands of substitute Scott Barrett for his second career New Zealand try to move 24-0 up with six minutes of the first half left.

The New Zealand winger took an intercept from well inside his own half before tearing off downfield with the South African fullback to beat and defenders either side of him.

New Zealand: 15 Damian McKenzie‚ 14 Nehe Milner-Skudder‚ 13 Ryan Crotty‚ 12 Sonny Bill Williams‚ 11 Rieko Ioane‚ 10 Beauden Barrett‚ 9 Aaron Smith; 8 Kieran Read (c)‚ 7 Sam Cane‚ 6 Liam Squire‚ 5 Sam Whitelock‚ 4 Brodie Retallick‚ 3 Nepo Laulala‚ 2 Dane Coles‚ 1 Kane Hames.

Ioane's try was also damn good.

After a slow start in the second half, continued pressure saw Milner-Skudder, Ofa Tu'ungafasi, Lima Sopaga and Cody Taylor all cross to pour the pain on the Springboks. After racing away on the left he found Coles in support and the hooker offloaded to Retallick for the finishing touch.

Ofa Tu'ungafasi crashed over following a line-out for his first worldwide try as New Zealand battered away at the lacklustre Springboks, whose humiliation was far from complete.

Milner-Skudder went on to score a double, as the All Blacks crushed South Africa 57-0.
