Turkey wants to see a strong Pakistan, says Erdogan

Turkey wants to see a strong Pakistan, says Erdogan”

Turkey released French journalist Loup Bureau who was seized by security forces on the Iraqi border last month, his lawyer said on Friday. "Whether it's a hard time or the moment of ease, we are standing by Pakistan".

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday strongly condemned the blast in an underground train in London.

Erdogan said the projects initiated in collaboration with Turkey in Punjab were great symbols of Pak-Turk friendship.

Omer Celik, Turkey's Minister of European Union Affairs and the Chief Negotiator for Turkish Accession to the European Union, accused the European Commission of "using the EU negotiating process as a way to blackmail Turkey", which he called a "weakening and discrediting [of] the EU institutions". "Under your leadership, the journey of development and prosperity of Punjab is commendable, and the efforts of Pakistan government for provision of energy as well as eradication of terrorism are worthwhile".

He has extended sympathies to the injured and prayed for their early recovery.

While Turkey's bid has not yet entirely failed it is, effectively, in cold storage with the European Union keeping its distance after the coup and the ensuing crackdown by the authorities which saw ten of thousands imprisoned and people sacked from public sector jobs.

In recent years, the solid cooperation between the two countries in different sectors has given new dimensions to this friendship; while the future will further boost Pak-Turk friendship, he said.

Pakistan and Turkey have always cooperated with each other and they will also be standing side by side in every situation in the future as well, he added.

Anadolu Agency said Bureau was ordered released from detention by a court in the Turkish town of Silopi, on the first hearing of his case. Pakistan's Ambassador to Turkey received the CM, along with high-ranking Turkish officials.

He said that terrorism has become an global issue which could be eliminated through combined efforts.

He further said that this tour would further strengthen mutual relations between the two countries.
