UK Police Make 'Significant Arrest' In Train Attack Case”

Thirty people were injured in a bomb explosion at Parsons Green tube station on Friday morning.

Residents of Cavendish Road are being told by police to leave their homes and retreat to a point 100m away from where the police operation is taking place.

But he piled the pressure on police for not releasing CCTV footage of the attacker, describing it as a "useful" tool in identifying suspects.

Sunbury-on-Thames is located approximately 15 miles south-west of central London, between the commuter towns of Kingston and Ashford, Surrey.

The improvised explosive device in a train at Parsons Green station, a quiet and wealthy residential district, failed to detonate fully, according to media reports.

"What we've seen in the last period across Europe is attempts by evil and cowardly individuals to kill, to injure and to disrupt our way of life and what we're not going to do is allow them to change how we live our lives, to be pluralistic, to be respectful", he said.

Highlighting an increased visible police presence after the Parsons Green bombing, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick today said: 'London has not stopped after other bad attacks and it will not stop after this one'.

The latest spat comes after British police temporarily suspended intelligence-sharing with the USA in the wake of the Manchester Arena bombing in May following a series of leaks to American media.

"(We must) "make sure to take all steps that we can to ensure the sort of materials that this man was able to collect" are harder to find, she said.

Prime Minister Theresa May announced late Friday that the United Kingdom terror threat level had been raised from "severe" to "critical", meaning an attack is expected imminently.

He added: "The travel ban into the United States should be far larger, tougher and more specific - but stupidly, that would not be politically correct!"

In Downing Street, Mrs May said: "I never think it's helpful for anybody to speculate on what is an ongoing investigation".

Britain's armed forces have also been called in to support the police as they work to keep the public safe. Officials had not declared the incident a terrorist attack at the time.

In addition, a suicide bomber struck a packed concert hall in Manchester in northern England, killing 22 people.

ISIS claimed involvement with the explosion saying, via its Amaq news agency, that a "detachment" from the group had carried out the attack.

Security at seaports and airports had been increased after the attack. Officials said the bomb was meant to do grave harm to commuters. "It is likely to encourage more copycat attacks, and it's also going to require an extraordinary level of security to deter these things from happening", Southers said.
