Workout gone wrong: Man gets penis trapped in iron weight

Workout gone wrong: Man gets penis trapped in iron weight”

If you are a man, please do not put your penis inside one of those big round weights you see in the gym.

On September 15, a resident of the German town of Worms, for reasons best known to himself, chose to stick his penis into a 2.5 kg weight plate at his local gym.

The man was initially taken to hospital on Friday morning, but doctors were unable to free him from the metal plate.

While it isn't known what exercise landed the man in such a freakish situation, a Facebook post advised people to steer clear of such acts. "With the help of the grinder, a saw and hydraulic emergency [cutter], the dumbbell was removed after three hours" the department said in a statement.

The victim had to be sedated as firefighters from the city of Worms smashed the weight to free his penis, according to Metro.

The firefighters had to use power tools to break the weight plate and it took them three hours to complete the rescue operation.

The fire brigade advised the masses to not "imitate such actions".
