LT Garett Bolles has high ankle sprain, report says”

An emotional Bolles was taken to the locker room on a cart and raised his arms to acknowledge the crowd.

Bolles left Sports Authority Field at Mile High after the Broncos' 42-17 win over the Dallas Cowboys Sunday with a walking boot on his left foot/ankle and using crutches. However, some better news for the emerging edge blocker arrived Monday.

Broncos first-round draft pick and starting left tackle Garett Bolles suffered a high left ankle sprain and bone bruise in Sunday's game against the Cowboys, an injury the team initially feared was a broken leg or Achilles injury. Possible foot injury, but the X-ray was inconclusive.

Stephenson has struggled for most of his career but has received several chances at lineup work in Kansas City and Denver. Signed to play right tackle a year ago, Stephenson couldn't stick there for a second season. They will nearly certainly hold Bolles out for two more games, with their bye week falling in Week 5.

The Broncos play at Buffalo on Sunday before a key AFC West game October 1 vs. the Raiders in Denver.
