Trump's Supporters, Protesters Hold Rival Rallies in Washington, DC

Trump's Supporters, Protesters Hold Rival Rallies in Washington, DC”

Trump himself left Washington for the weekend.

Organisers had hoped to attract a million people to Washington DC for a massive demonstration showing their support for the U.S. president.

Also near the National Mall, a crowd marked by the red "Make America Great Again" caps ubiquitous among supporters of President Trump will rally in favor of the administration's policy agenda. They meant to push their demand that the Federal Bureau of Investigation rescind its classification of juggalos as a "loosely organized hybrid gang".

The goal of Saturday's event was to show united support behind Donald Trump and "American culture", but with an approval rating in the 30s and even some of Trump's own supporters now publicly burning their "Make America Great Again" hats, it's clear the country is united in opposition to this president. Organizers, on the event's website, appealed for people to "help send a message to Congress, the media & the world" that "we stand united to defend American culture & values".

Numerous attendees were members of right-wing militia groups.

Some protesters wore T-shirts that said: "We're not PUTIN up with it!"

The extravagantly dressed fans of the hip hop duo chanted "family" as they listened to speakers and musicians.

Later, in front of the Lincoln Memorial, thousands of juggalos, as supporters of the rap group Insane Clown Posse are known, readied for a concert and rally.
