Melania threatens lawsuit over billboard with her image

Melania threatens lawsuit over billboard with her image”

No matter the intent, Melania Trump found nothing amusing about billboards that displayed her image and the slogan "Just imagine how far you can go with a little bit of English".

The advertisements were part of a language school's marketing campaign in Zagreb meant to leverage the fist lady's success in order to promote Croats learning English.

However, the campaign was short-lived, and ABC News reported that the first lady saw it as an attack on her heavily accented, yet impressive, English.

Trump, who is a native of neighboring Slovenia, is fluent in English, French, Serbian and German.

Adverts for a language school in Croatia depicting Melania Trump have been removed after the USA first lady's lawyer threatened to take legal action.

But Pirc-Musar said a simple apology isn't enough, he wants Croatian and Slovenian news agencies to publish the mea culpa. Her lawyer, Natasa Pirc-Musar, contacted Buric and requested that it be removed immediately because it "violated the law". "We are stillanalyzingg possible further legal steps". "It was meant to be something positive, to show her as a role model", she said.

Trump is originally from Croatia's neighbor, Slovenia, and her image has been used in her home country to promote cakes, underwear and tourism.

Buric said the advertising campaign had been successful, mostly because of the local and global attention it received.

Trump is only the second foreign-born first lady in the history of the United States, and a school in Croatia decided she was the ideal example of the importance of learning English.
