So, apparently It was supposed to be even scarier... 'very disturbing'

So, apparently It was supposed to be even scarier... 'very disturbing'”

"That might be something worth exploring in the second one", he said.

In an interview with Variety's Playback podcast, the actor revealed that production filmed a scene set in the early 17th century, showing the origin of Pennywise and his interactions with the founding members of Derry, Maine.

According to Digital Spy, the scene that was cut out of the film was saw a mother allowing a half-formed Penneywise to eat her daughter in exchange for protection.

Warner Bros., the studio that produced the film, is claiming the record based exclusively on genre, excluding other films like The Sixth Sense, Jaws and I Am Legend - which all made more money - by citing them has "hybrid" genres, rather than pure horror, the outlet reports.

Those who have seen It say that there's enough comedy in it that some scenes may not be as scary as you think, but the second one will have less of that. But, it might not stay there.

"I'm not gonna spoil what the scene is, because we might use it [in the sequel]". Skarsgård went on to tease that the flashback scene may still end up making it to the big screen in the It sequel that they're now working on. "It's very disturbing, and sort of a backstory for what It is, or where Pennywise came from", he said.

"There's a scene that we shot that was a flashback scene from the 1600s".

According to some theories, the scene was included in Cary Fukunaga's version of the script, but when differences with the movie studio forced Cary to give up his role as director, the scene ended up being cut. Sounds like he's talking about the same scene as Skarsgård, huh? The novel established the clown as It's favorite form, but perhaps the movie can explain exactly why the monster first took this particular shape, and what made it so appealing. The next movie will see the kids from the first film as adults, fulfilling their promise to reunite in Derry to take on It once again. It's just $14.2 million behind The Exorcist, the top-grossing R-rated horror film ever.
