Mariah Carey Bah, Humbug!! Sued For Stiffing Christmas Choir Singers”

Global icon Mariah Carey announces Mariah Carey Christmas Factory during the grand opening Of Sugar Factory American Brasserie on September 6, 2017 in Bellevue, Washington. One of the music superstars who never shies away from a Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremony on the chance to dress up in her Mrs. Santa outfit, Mariah is also known for having arguably the most popular modern Christmas song of all time with "All I Want For Christmas Is You".

Mariah Carey went full Scrooge on a bunch of Christmas choir singers - allegedly skipping out on almost $70k in payments to the group - and now they're suing.

According to the court documents obtained by TMZ, Broadway Inspirational Voices had been due to performance nine Christmas shows with the singer a year ago at The Beacon Theatre in NY.

"We have made a decision to go another direction with regard to the choir", was the reason offered by Michael Morobitto, Carey's production manager, according to the suit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court.

Then, just a week before the first show, Carey's rep told the group that she had "decided to go in another direction with regard to the choir".

A concert review that says Carey was at her best during "Silent Night" and "Joy to the World" - tunes that featured the choir, was cited in the lawsuit.

BIV is now suing the diva for almost $70,000 in payments, claiming that she hired them for the same performance in 2014 for the same amount of money, which reportedly went smoothly. Neither Carey nor any of her representatives have commented publicly on the situation, but we'll update the story if they do.
