Ricky Williams Arrested After Traffic Stop in Texas

Ricky Williams Arrested After Traffic Stop in Texas”

Former Heisman trophy victor and Texas Longhorn Ricky Williams was arrested Tuesday night and spent the evening in the Travis County jail, according to reports.

The Statesman reports Ricky Williams was pulled over for a traffic violation at the intersection of Manchaca Road and Ben White Boulevard.

Williams was taken to the Travis County jail, but the Statesman reported he was no longer there as of Thursday.

A Heisman Trophy victor at Texas and the No. 5 pick in 1999 who had one of the more headline-grabbing careers in recent National Football League memory, Williams now works for ESPN's Longhorn Network as an analyst. He retired after the 2011 season and is now an analyst for ESPN's Longhorn Network.

In January, Williams was stopped and frisked by police in Tyler, Texas, in an incident Williams and the local NAACP leader called "clear racial profiling." During the stop, the police officer saw that Williams had two outstanding traffic warrants, so he was brought to jail.

"Do you know how many times I've been messed with by cops just for being black?"Williams said in a KYTX report".
