Students play 'Dirty Dare' in class; teacher suspended”

Students had just gotten back to Lake Shore Middle School in Jacksonville, Florida, after a field trip when Sawdy told them they could work on school work or talk with friends in class, a police report says.

In a 16-page document, investigators outlined the distressing classroom occurrence - pupils played a game called "Dirty Dare", during which two girls allegedly exposed their breasts and other students kissed each other, News4Jax reports. Student accounts included in the report detail female students allegedly dancing on the laps of male students, exposing their breasts, and male students touching female students inappropriately.

"He never heard anyone say anything about playing a game".

During Sawdy's interview, he confirmed he gave his class an independent study period and put on a video of Bill Nye, the Science Guy and turned the lights off, although there was ambient light coming in the windows.

It seems that Sawdy caught wind of the inappropriate behavior of his students, as he took them aside the next day to ask about the game. He said the only inappropriate behavior he saw was a boy try to slap a girl on her leg.

"He led that student to the door and explained that although he appeared to be playing, that kind of playing could get him in trouble".

A probe concluded that Sawdy violated two professional standards. On Monday, the Duval County School Board approved that recommendation.

Brent Sawdy has been suspended without pay, News JAX reports, after rumors circulated of students flashing their breasts and twerking in his classroom.

He was also found to have provided inadequate supervision by the Florida Department of Children and Families.
