Center open to have unconditional dialogue with Kashmiri separatists: Ram Madhav”

Summary: Asked what if the separatists were willing to talk, Madhav said, "Then it will be looked into by appropriate people". "If they (separatists) wish, they can have a dialogue with the state government and they can have talks with New Delhi as well", Madhav said. But the question should be asked to those who don't want to go for the dialogue.

Madhav claimed that militant activity in Kashmir is on decline, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary, Ram Madhav Thursday said that normalcy will be restored in Kashmir soon if Opposition cooperates.

They had said the dialogue should fulfill the "will and aspirations of the people of Kashmir". "We are open to all those who want to come and have a dialogue without any preconditions", he said.

Kashmir has been witnessing vigorous anti-insurgency operations by security forces in the past few months particularly after increase in militant activities following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani in July previous year. "Our government will take all measures so that such activities wouldn't happen", he said. Madhav, who is considered to be the architect of the Agenda of Alliance between the BJP and PDP in the state, said coalition between the two parties is working very well and its focus for the next three years is on the state's development. "The Prime Minister's statement will be the way forward for our government", said Madhav.

The BJP general secretary is here to take stock of the party affairs in the state amid reports that the party's top brass and workers were not happy with the functioning of some of its ministers.

"When we say Kashmir is ours, it means Kashmiris are our own people".

When asked about dialogue with the pro-freedom camp, the senior BJP leader said that government is open to have dialogue with anyone.

The Government of India has said that this issue will be handled keeping the security concerns in mind.

Meanwhile, Madhav said that the people of Kashmir are giving good response to the Modi led government.

"As far as sporadic incidents of firing from across the border and current sporadic incidents of violence in the valley, the recalcitrant neighbor that we have will continue to try and foment trouble here but our security forces will ensure that it will not be allowed to succeed", he said.

On a question about settlement of Rohingya Muslim refugees, he said the issue was now in the Supreme Court. "The issue will be dealt with the security perspective also", he added. Following which he held a meeting with party workers at the deputy chief minister's residence.

The statement comes 10 days after Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh made a similar statement during his visit to the Valley, saying he was ready to talk to all stakeholders.

In a meeting with BJP ministers and party legislators, Madhav sought feedback on various governance-related issues.
