IPhone 8 and 8 Plus Top DxOMark Camera Ranking

IPhone 8 and 8 Plus Top DxOMark Camera Ranking”

Apple's iPhone 8 Plus camera has earned high praise from DxOMark, a website that publishes in-depth reviews of camera sensors, lenses and phone cameras. "Only its bigger and more expensive dual-camera sibling, the Apple iPhone 8 Plus, tops it on DxOMark Mobile's chart". These new iPhone scores trump the scores of 90 earned by the HTC U11 and Google Pixel. That's according to camera testing site DxOMark, which says that Apple's new flagship range tops its charts in almost every category, featuring "outstanding image quality". It basically wipes the floor with every other rival flagship, including the well-received Google Pixel and HTC U11. It is interesting to see a slightly higher video score in the iPhone 8 compared to the 8 Plus since video performance should be the same with both phones using the same camera for video.

Photos taken with the iPhone 8 camera are "generally stunning" with accurate colour and rich detail, the analyst said.

Most interestingly, DxOMark's results show that Apple has made significant improvements with the iPhone 8 generation over the iPhone 7 line. Its Photo score of 96 is also a new record, blowing past the Pixel's 90.

Low-light photography, something the the iPhones in the past have struggled to get right, has also improved with the iPhone 8 series, and DxOMark notes that improvements to the image signal processor (ISP) significantly improves bokeh and zoom captures with the iPhone 8 Plus.
