PDP Suspends Ubah, Refers Kashamu To Disciplinary Committee

PDP Suspends Ubah, Refers Kashamu To Disciplinary Committee”

Briefing journalists in Abuja on Thursday, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, said Ubah, who was a governorship aspirant in Anambra State, got suspended for disregarding a query issued him by the leadership of the party. "He chose not to answer the query consequent upon which the national caretaker committee today, made a decision to suspends him for a period of one month and to refer he matter to national disciplinary committee".

In the case of Kashamu, Adeyeye said the senator was only sent to the disciplinary committee, noting that he had replied a query where he denied some allegations of indiscipline leveled against him.

The committee is headed by the former minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Tom Ikimi.

Ubah has continued to disparage the national officers of the PDP and those that conducted the Anambra State governorship primary after he lost the election.

"The committee is given 2 weeks to report back". I have not benefitted anything from the PDP since I joined the party and I will follow this issue to its conclusion because I am one who loves following due process.

According to him, the list of accredited delegates used for the primary election was different from the one the party submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The party had, a few weeks ago, dissolved the state's executive committee loyal to Kashamu and had set up a caretaker committee in its place.

In a statement released on Thursday evening, PDP said Ubah, the chairman of Capital Oil and Gas Ltd made some disparaging allegations against chieftains of the party following his loss of the party's ticket to another aspirant.

He said his response to the query was out of deference to constituted authority.

He said the court in Suit No.FHC/ABJ/CS/732/2017 ordered that "all parties should desist from taking any further step or steps that may affect the respondents in this matter as previously made by Hon".

The lawmaker also dismissed the allegation that he instigated the police against some PDP members in Ogun State.

While denying receipt of any query, Ubah urged the party leadership to show evidence to the contrary.

Ubah, who also ‎accused the Party of injustice, said: "I am not doing this because of myself, I have not for once gained one single thing from PDP in my entire life and I stand to be challenged if PDP can tell anybody anything that they gave to me".

"Let them query me; I'm also ready to ask them some questions". But I'm ready to fight my own cause.

"I want Nigerians to know that also, even before I presented this case to the public, I personally presented it to the former president (Goodluck Jonathan)".
