Bosco Mann), and was invited to a rehearsal and writing session with Daptone artist and future producer Tom Brenneck. It wasn't until 2011, at the age of 62 that Bradley would release his first album No Time For Dreaming, and he eventually followed that up with two more albums, and received wide critical acclaim. At a time when true soul music is hard to come by and the world needs love more than ever, Charles Bradley was a welcome presence.

The singer was diagnosed with stomach cancer back in 2016 which he overcame after surgery, but later revealed how the cancer had spread to his liver.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to All-Stars Project or Music Unites.

Speaking to Rolling Stone past year, Bradley said he couldn't envision a future that didn't involve some level of performance. Throughout 2017 he continuously performed, giving every audience the same gratitude and love he was always known for. "I open their hearts up and they feel the love of my heart and when I go out there and really respond to 'em and talk to 'em, they tell me some things", he said.
