Colorado punter will kick it 'high and far' to avoid Dante Pettis

Colorado punter will kick it 'high and far' to avoid Dante Pettis”

As the college football meets it end on Saturday, Washington Huskies takes on Colorado Buffaloes at 10:00 PM EST in Folsom Field.

Washington isn't alone among the top 10 of the AP Top 25 in feasting on lesser competition thus far. Washington destroyed the Buffaloes in last year's Pac-12 Championship Game, but a double-digit line may be tough to cover in their first test of the season in a hostile environment. The Buffaloes are trying to downplay the revenge factor and simply referring to this game a barometer to see how they stack up.

Colorado faced Colorado State, Texas State, and Northern Colorado in their first three weeks of the season.

Washington's Dante Pettis has returned a punt for a score in each of the first three games.

Pettis, a senior, has a punt return for touchdown in each of Washington's three games this season, and he's got a Pac-12-record eight for his career. "We're just anxious about kicking it high and kicking it far".

However, Washington is hit by an injury storm with the new addition of Byron Murphy to the list which includes several key starters and co-starters: WR Chico McClatcher, WR Andre Baccellia, TE Drew Sample, RB Lavon Coleman, and LB DJ Beavers.

It's the second straight year in which the nonconference schedule for Washington (3-0) has left the Huskies looking good and proving little. Adams was a first-team, All-Pac-12 player last season. It's the best start by a Colorado quarterback since Mike Moschetti went 5-0 in 1998.
