Kim calls Trump 'deranged' as Pyongyang hints at H-bomb

Kim calls Trump 'deranged' as Pyongyang hints at H-bomb”

North Korea's official news agency has ridiculed the recent United Nations sanctions as "the dirty excrement of the reactionaries of history".

The ridicule came in a KCNA commentary criticizing China's Community Party media outlets.

"I think that it could be an H-bomb test at an unprecedented level perhaps over the Pacific", he said.

They were responding Friday to reports that North Korea's foreign minister had said his country might conduct such a test.

Pyongyang conducted its sixth and largest nuclear test on September 3 and has launched dozens of missiles this year as it accelerates a programme aimed at enabling it to target the United States with a nuclear-tipped missile. He said that "we can not deny the possibility it may fly over our country".

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said in a news conference on Friday: "North Korea's remarks and behaviour are provocative to regional and global security, and they are absolutely unacceptable".

Ri made the comment to reporters at the United Nations and added that any potential action would have to be approved by Kim Jong Un.

Thornton declined, however, to specify what the USA would do. Independent journalists were not given access to cover the event depicted in this image distributed by the Korean Central News Agency via Korea News Service.

What military options are open to the U.S. in tackling North Korea? He told lawmakers Thursday that now people can do little more than get inside because a missile strike could occur with less than 20 minutes' warning.

"All of our endeavours are to prevent war from breaking out and maintain peace", Moon said in his speech.

The state has plans to reintroduce monthly tests of an attack-warning siren.

Kim calls Trump 'deranged' as Pyongyang hints at H-bomb

Last month, the USA announced sanctions against five Chinese companies and one individual, two Singapore-based companies and three Russian citizens, which it accused of supporting North Korea's nuclear weapons programme.

North Korea said on Friday it might test a hydrogen bomb on the Pacific Ocean after US President Donald Trump vowed to destroy the country, with leader Kim Jong Un promising to make a "mentally deranged" Trump pay dearly for his threats.

President Donald Trump is again assailing North Korea Kim Jong Un, saying that he "will be tested like never before".

A proud counter-puncher, Trump shot back at Kim on Twitter Friday morning with an insult of his own and a helpful reminder that, as amusing as Kim's trash talk can be, he is still a brutal despot who allows his people to suffer in poverty as he finances a fantastical dream of military might.

He says Trump's threat to totally destroy North Korea shows the president takes "very seriously" his responsibility to protect Americans.

Kim's statement was in response to Trump's combative speech at the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday in which he mocked Kim as "Rocket Man" on a "suicide mission" and said that if "forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea".

The country's Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho, who was due to address the United Nations General Assembly on Friday but has since dropped out, told reporters in NY that the ultimate decision, however, was up to his boss, Kim Jong Un.

Ri Yong Ho spoke to reporters in NY shortly after Kim made an unprecedented televised statement, accusing Trump of being "mentally deranged".

South Korea's Yonhap news agency reports that Ri told reporters in NY that a response "could be the most powerful detonation of an H-bomb in the Pacific".

Ri, who was talking to reporters in NY ahead of a planned address later this week, however also said he did not know Kim's exact thoughts, according to the report.

Such a test would be considered a major provocation by Washington and its allies.
