Traders call strike in Kashmir against NIA summon to KEA chief”

Traders of Kashmir Saturday called for "Kashmir Bandh" on September 25 (Monday) against NIA summon to Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Association (KTMF) president Yaseen Khan.

Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Geelani's son Syed Naseem Geelani, who teaches at SKUAST-K, was also once again called for questioning to the NIA headquarters on the same day.

They said their organisations were not against the ongoing investigations by the NIA in Kashmir, but summoning Khan to New Delhi was "uncalled for and harassment".

Reports said cops from Nigeen police station served the NIA notice to Fazili's department on Friday.

Both Khan and Fazili have received the NIA summons and would be visiting the national capital on Monday to appear before the NIA sleuths for questioning.

These summons come at a time when the NIA has arrested seven separatist leaders and two alleged stone-pelters from Kashmir and conducted several raids in the case of alleged funding of anti-national activities in the Valley. It arrested half a dozen people as scores were questioned and interrogated. A second round of questioning was done from August 24 to August 30.
