China imposes limit on oil supply to North Korea

China imposes limit on oil supply to North Korea”

Last week, North Korea launched an intermediate-range ballistic missile that traveled 2,300 miles and passed over the Japanese island of Hokkaido before landing in the northern Pacific.

Analysts examining satellite images of North Korea's mountainous test site after the latest nuclear test said they spotted landslides and surface disturbances that were more numerous and widespread than what was seen from any of the five previous tests. The test demonstrated that the USA territory of Guam is now in attack range. "Similar to "collapse" event 8.5 mins after DPRK6", a reference to the second tremor that followed the September 3 test.

The quake came after days of increasingly bellicose rhetoric between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un's regime, as global alarm mounts over Pyongyang's nuclear ambitions.

China announced Saturday that it will limit oil exports to North Korea under United Nations sanctions over its nuclear and missile development, further reducing support from Pyongyang's last major trading partner, energy supplier and diplomatic ally.

He was asked why the USA, which has spent tens of billions of dollars on missile defense programs in recent decades, has not tried to intercept North Korea's rockets as they demonstrate an increasingly sophisticated missile capability.

China's Earthquake Administration said the quake was not a nuclear explosion and had the characteristics of a natural tremor.

China also will ban textile imports from the North, the ministry said.

North Korea has said the tests are meant to develop the capability to hit USA territory with a nuclear weapon.

"In this case we saw none".

"It could be a natural quake that really was man-made as the nuclear test would have transferred a lot of stress", he said. We can not conclusively confirm at this time the nature (natural or human-made) of the event.

All of North Korea's six nuclear tests registered as earthquakes of magnitude 4.3 or above.

Lassina Zerbo, executive secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organisation (CTBTO), tweeted the quake was "unlikely Man-made!"

"No. 1, those missiles are not directly threatening any of us", he said.

In a speech to the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, President Donald Trump warned North Korean leader Kim Jong-un that the United States, if threatened, would "totally destroy" his country of 26 million people.

He said Mr Trump would "pay dearly" and after his "ferocious declaration" of war, North Korea would consider a "corresponding, highest level of hard-line countermeasure".

On Thursday, Trump announced new US sanctions that he said allows the targeting of companies and institutions that finance and facilitate trade with North Korea.
