Police back in Bury St Edmunds on anniversary of Corrie's disappearance

Police back in Bury St Edmunds on anniversary of Corrie's disappearance”

One of the men pictured came forward yesterday evening to identify himself following an appeal, which was publicised in this newspaper.

CCTV footage of Corrie McKeague on the night he went missing.

CCTV images include a woman in the doorway of Flex nightclub at 2.23am, a man entering the club and someone standing outside a McDonald's at 4.30am.

Corrie, originally from Dunfermline, Fife, was last seen on September 24 past year following a night out with pals. None are being treated as suspects.

"We would ask the public to call us if they have fresh information that may be of benefit to the investigation".

"This is being done in the hope that we may jog someone's memory that may have been out that night or has heard something since, or that after seeing the route and hearing the facts, may ask a question we have not thought of yet".

"Myself, Makeyan, Darroch and Tony will be on Langton Place, Bury St Edmunds (near So Bar, which is where Corrie started his night out) throughout the day/evening".

The last confirmed sighting of Corrie was on Saturday, September 24, at around 3.25am on Brentgovel Street in the town centre.

It was feared he had fallen asleep in a wheelie bin and police later spent £1.2million on a fruitless search of a rubbish dump.

Writing on the Find Corrie Facebook page earlier this month, Mrs Urquhart said: "On Sunday, September 24, it will be one year since Corrie disappeared".

Corrie is originally from Fife in Scotland and moved down to Suffolk to live at RAF Honington where he worked as a gunner and team medic in the air force.

Detective Superintendent Katie Elliott said: "It is fair to say that a year on from him going missing, we never thought we would be in this position of not yet locating Corrie or establishing what happened to him".

"We welcome any opportunity to say hello and thank you to any of you that would like to come and meet us, but most importantly we want to do something constructive that helps find Corrie".

"We had compelling information that directed us to this particular area of the landfill site".

A special operations unit has been commissioned to review Suffolk Police's investigation into the disappearance, which has cost more than £1.2m to date Sky News reports.

"There is still so much more that can be done and is getting done by the police and we'll just keep trying to help them".

She told Sky News: "When I'm talking to people there's an very bad lot of confusion sometimes about Corrie's movements, where he's gone, possibilities and theories they may have".
