Top 10 Movies At The US Box Office This Weekend”

"Kingsman: The Golden Circle" claims #1 in its opening weekend at the USA box office.

Three attractions duked it out for box office supremacy over the weekend.

"The Golden Circle", continuing the James Bond-like antics of franchise star Taron Egerton along with new additions Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Julianne Moore, and Jeff Bridges, took in an estimated $39 million on 4,000 screens, according to Exhibitor Relations. The tally, which narrowly tops the $36.2 million bow for 2015's "Kingsman: The Secret Service", gives "Golden Circle" a $9.0 million lead over this weekend's #2 film.

Overseas the film has brought in $61 million (£45.2 million), to bring its global earnings to $100 million (£74.1 million).

It was a close second with $30 million, bringing the film's total domestic haul to $266 million - a record for the highest grossing horror film in history.

In the "LEGO Ninjago Movie" world, however, the dynamic of hero and villain is more than your typical animated/action film (think Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker), for instance, Garmadon continues to attack the City of Ninjago over and over again, but is consistently foiled by five ninjas (voices of Franco, Fred Armisen, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña and Abbi Jacobson, representing earth, water, fire, lightening and ice).

It wasn't all good news at the box office this weekend, though, as Warner Bros.' new Lego Ninjago Movie debuted in a weak third place.

The success of the "LEGO Batman Movie" betrays many viewers with this subpar effort.

The action sequel brought in $39 million during its opening weekend.

The horror "Friend Request" had the task of trying to attract fans of the genre following the hit that "It" is. Taking in only $2.4 million over the weekend (it was made for $9.9 million), it proves that horror audiences won't just run to anything that has scares.
