Watch the bloody first trailer for Netflix's The Punisher”

Frank Castle shows off the Punisher logo. Regardless, Marvel and Netflix aren't downplaying the violence of the new show, as evidenced by the first trailer for the upcoming series. "The Punisher" ploughing his way through numerous armed thugs with reckless abandon and military precision.

Jon Berthnal made his first appearance as the character in season two of Daredevil, engaging in several bloody showdowns with the titular hero, who, for some reason, didn't approve of Frank's violent methods of exacting justice.

CinemaBlend suggested that the trailer's origin scene may have been just a dream sequence.

The killer of Castle's family isn't the only mystery. Marvel fans loved Bernthal's performance as The Punisher during the second season of Daredevil, however, while everyone got to meet the character as a militant looking for revenge after the death of wife and daughter, The Punisher's version of Frank is going to have the vigilante dive headfirst into a deep military conspiracy.

He will also be donning his signature black attire spray-painted with a large white skull, along with a number of high-calibre weaponry. Marvel and Netflix are keeping that date a secret. A website called MCU Exchange seemed to have gotten its hands on Total Film Magazine, alleging that the release date of "The Punisher" will be on October 13, contrary to past statements that the show would be arriving in November.

Despite the many teasers for the show, Netflix is holding off on revealing the series' release date.
