Kate Winslet Has a Logical Explanation for Cutting a Guy's Ear Off

Kate Winslet Has a Logical Explanation for Cutting a Guy's Ear Off”

On Tuesday, the star stopped by The Tonight Show to dish on her new film, The Mountain Between Us, and explain why before taking on roles like Titanic, she tried her hand at beauty. "You wouldn't have even had me on".

The Hollywood buddies are often spotted out and about together, most recently on holiday in St Lucia - hope Kate let him on the lilo - but nothing sums up how close they are than the look on Kate's face when Leo (FINALLY) won his Oscar.

After cutting her own hair a few times to save her mom money, Kate thought she might have what it takes to become a professional.

The film is based on author Charles Martin's bestselling 2011 novel of the same name, but Kate admits the storyline could very well have been lifted from her own life.

"When I first read this script, I was so moved by it because that really did happen to me", she shared on USA breakfast show Good Morning America.

That's right. Kate Winslet once cut off a guy's ear.

"I actually saw it fall!" It was a little nick. "A family friend-who was a fully-grown man, ladies and gentleman!-allowed me to cut his hair, and I cut off a piece of his ear", the Oscar victor confessed.

There was a reference along the lines of "sculpting your body out of wet sand..." but honestly, we were laughing so much it was hard to hear. "He's proud of his little bit of missing ear".
