Turkish NGO delivers aid to 3125 Rohingya in Myanmar

Turkish NGO delivers aid to 3125 Rohingya in Myanmar”

"On Saturday, the military and the Mogh attacked our village".

"I don't know the whereabouts of my relatives and friends in Fwaira Bazar", the 35-year-old told AFP, using the Rohingya name for the village area. Some have fled to Bangladesh, complaining of violence against them by soldiers or Buddhist vigilantes. "And the other one is an old refugee", he added.

The migrating Rohingyas have been provided shelter in newly established Rohingyas refugee camps by the Bangladesh government but their free movements outside the camps have been restricted with the hope of returning them to Myanmar or even to a third country.

It said the increase was due to the addition of 35,000 people who had not been included in the previous report's count, as well as new arrivals in recent hours.

"Movement across the border reportedly decreased from 21-24 September, especially along the Ukhia border areas". Explaining that many Rohingya refugees have links with terror groups such as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) as well as Pakistan's spy agency ISI, the Centre told the Supreme Court said that the refugees staying in India would be a threat to its security.

He said that for now the immediate focus has to remain on fast, efficient and substantial increases of support to those who are so desperately in need.

On Tuesday, Human Rights Watch (HRW) called the violence unfolding in Rakhine "crime against humanity".

"The massacres of villagers and mass arson driving people from their homes are all crimes against humanity".

In a separate statement issued in Geneva, seven experts empowered by the United Nations to look into human rights issues called on Myanmar's government to halt violence against its minority Rohingya Muslim community and stop persecution and rights violations that have been described as an example of ethnic cleansing.

A military crackdown triggered by a coordinated militant assault on 30 police posts and an army base in northern Rakhine on August 25, sent more than 429,000 Rohingya Muslims fleeing to Bangladesh. The Myanmar army responded by burning villages and attacking civilians as a response to the attacks.

Hindu families who crossed from Myanmar to Bangladesh to flee the violence said their family members and relatives were among those who were killed and buried in the shallow mass graves that were discovered this week.

An ARSA spokesman rejected the allegations.

HRW on Tuesday joined fellow worldwide rights group Amnesty global in labelling the conduct of the Tatmadaw army of Burma - which along with Buddhist vigilante groups is accused of extrajudicial killings, arson and rape - crimes against humanity.
