Carmelo Anthony thought Rockets, Cavs deals were set”

Anthony's comments, however, are the first indication that suggests he would have also been included in such trade.

Carmelo Anthony confirmed Thursday that there was a trade in place on the night of the National Basketball Association draft that would have resulted in both him and Paul George landing with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Anthony described Adams as a character from the popular TV series Game of Thrones at a press conference earlier today.

Cleveland had a deal in place to do just that, but the Pacers backed away.

According to National Basketball Association sources, the Knicks say no deal was done with Houston, but his agents and the Rockets pressed the Knicks hard to accept their offer, which included Ryan Anderson. But shortly after, new Knicks president and general manager Scott Perry put the talks on hold.

"I think it was within the last week, week and a half, before training camp, " Anthony said. "Then for some reason, whatever happened behind the scenes, and it didn't go through, it fell through", Anthony told Sirius XM NBA Radio. Then we really had to pay attention and think about other options. Fearful that he'd have to report to Knicks Media Day on Monday, Anthony said he made a decision to open his options to OKC.

The Thunder forward is finding his fishing spots in Oklahoma City and learning Billy Donovan's coaching terminology and getting comfortable with a new set of teammates.

Anthony said he was preparing to report to Knicks training camp last week, but he admitted it would have been awkward. "We never even talked about OKC, though". "The deal was actually done and it got called off on draft night, so me and PG stayed connected throughout the course of the season". "It would've been too much noise, too many questions to answer and I don't think either party wanted to deal with that".

The Knicks pulled out of all Rockets talks as they decided Anderson's long-term contract (three years, $60 million) didn't meet their rebuilding goals.
