Google is reportedly prepping a high-end Home 'Max'

Google is reportedly prepping a high-end Home 'Max'”

Google (GOOG, GOOGL) is working on a larger version of the Google Home with stereo speakers and improved sound quality, according to 9to5Google sources. It is expected to come with a single tweeter with dual mid-range drivers. Google's Google Home speaker costs $130, though Apple's upcoming smart speaker, HomePod, has not even hit the market yet. Regarding the outlook, it will be a premium model with better design and materials.

With Google hosting a Pixel event on October 4, there's a chance we might see this product sooner rather than later.

There are few details on this reported larger, stereo Home Max speaker, though a 9to5Google source says that it appeared in a focus group that had some of the other products leaked above, like the Home Mini.

The new smart speaker is now being called the Google Home "Max," though that will likely change when (and if) it's officially unveiled at Google's upcoming October 4 event.

While we're sure that Google was at one stage working on such a device there's no guarantee it will be announced next week or ever. Now that Apple HomePod is also going to penetrate the market in December, it is only legit for Google to enhance Home's hardware to make it rival the HomePod. Share your thoughts below.
