Grey's Anatomy Stars Are Taking a Stand By Taking a Knee

Grey's Anatomy Stars Are Taking a Stand By Taking a Knee”

It has nothing to do with the flag, the military or love of country.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed Friday that he did speak with President Donald Trump after Monday night's NFL game at which the team and owner kneeled before the national anthem. NFL's most coveted quarterback and Trump supporter Tom Brady linked arms with his teammates, Mic reports. To say that the protest is not against the flag or the country is not only historically incorrect and intellectually dishonest, it also defies reasonable logic.

"I totally agree when people say that". I don't know why any President would use that kind of language on any subject. "When we did this a year ago I think people were so shocked at the gesture, there were so many narratives swirling about disrespect of this and disrespecting that, that nobody could get past that and hear about why we were doing it". But I told my players that we also have the ability to protest.

"Yeah, I anticipate us doing something together". Protests and protesters have always puzzled me because I'm not exactly sure what they think is going to happen just because they marched, stood up, sat down, or made signs. That dialogue actually began when Reid, Kaepernick and linebacker Eli Harold began kneeling past year, and because it has been continuous and other players have joined the protests, Reid said teammates are more engaged. After a conversation between the two of them and retired Green Beret and National Football League player Nate Boyer, they decided that kneeling was the best, and most respectful, way to get their message across.

It is obvious that the country, in fact the world has changed, and sooner or later we would see the effects in sports as well. "But what we will do is be together as a team". Reid said Wednesday he wants to have better control of the narrative.

"Yes, his comments on two occasions have directly related to the protests but my protest is not about the President", Reid said. He said that the decline in viewership is due to players protesting during the national anthem before games, alienating fans.

He refused to stand because he did not want to "show pride in a flag for a country". The people claiming that Kaepernick is being disrespectful are, in turn, disrespecting those innocent people who have died by failing to stand for them. Where else could a lot of them earn that kind of money? "He wishes that this many people were involved previous year. They'll be the most popular person in this country".

National Football League spokesman Joe Lockhart called the president's statements "inaccurate".

Despite Kaepernick's absence, scores of players from across the country have "taken a knee" during the anthem.

If these injustices are highlighted through press conferences, interviews and social media and an effort is made to understand how minorities feel and are treated, it will be impossible not to hear the cries of our brothers and sisters of color and make a noticeable change. While politicizing a sport that doesn't exist for his playacting, Kaepernick was more egregiously disrespecting not just the flag and the anthem, but what they stand for - perhaps the most extraordinary nation ever, a place whose ideals have conquered and are still conquering its faults.
