3 boys dead after being hit by auto on sidewalk in Nevada

The scene of a fatal crash in the east valley on Saturday night.

Three boys were killed after being hit by a auto on Saturday night in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas police confirmed on Sunday morning that the driver has been taken into custody.

Peter Kisfalvi said officers were called to an accident scene at 9:07 p.m.at the intersection of Desert Inn Road and Ocean Crest Street, near Nellis Boulevard.

All three boys died at the scene. Two of the three boys killed appear to be related, possibly brothers, he said. But, he is expected to survive at this time.

Police have identified a man accused of driving the vehicle that fatally ran over a teenager and two younger boys while they were walking on a sidewalk in east Las Vegas.

Police say the crash occurred about 9 p.m. and the driver may have been speeding and trying to pass another auto when he ran onto the sidewalk.

Eskandarian was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on undisclosed charges, according to police, who didn't know if he had a lawyer yet. It wasn't clear whether he was driving under the influence or hurt.

Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicate Eskandarian lost control of the unregistered vehicle and it travelled down a sidewalk, striking a light pole before hitting the four boys, police said.
