At Least 11 People Killed In Damascus Bomb Attack

At Least 11 People Killed In Damascus Bomb Attackā€

A auto bomb was detonated in front of the police station in Damascus' Al-Midan District in Syria on Monday.

The 11 dead included police officers and civilians, the SOHR said, adding that the attack also caused injuries.

The pro-Damascus al-Mayadeen TV channel said four militants carried out the attack, killing more than 10 people.

The same police station in Midan was targeted last December when a suicide seven-year-old girl blew up inside the station, in what later appeared to be remotely detonated by al-Qaida-linked groups.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

The station says several people were killed or wounded.

The extremist group Islamic State has also entered the fighting and is opposed by all other sides.

Russian Federation and Iran support the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, while the United States and Turkey back rebel groups. Local resources have not yet shared detailed information about attack.
